Vice Chancellor Federal University Otuoke Prof Seth Accra Jaja says there are indications that the University is receiving wide acclamation with the large registration of about 10,000 registered prospective applicants to study in the University beginning with the 2017/2018 Academic Session.
The VC gave the indication at the 6th meeting of Congregation, Wednesday September 27,2017 at the University Auditorium, Skills Acquisition Centre Otuoke.
According to him, the large number of JAMB Candidates who have shown interest to study in FUO clearly shows that the University is being recognized for her Academic prowess.
He however said a lot still needs to be achieved in the area of infrastructural development, Accreditation of Academic Programmes and engagement of sufficient teaching staff and facilities, if the University has to grow.
Also at the meeting, Prof. Seth Accra Jaja thanked members of the congregation for their support during the 2016/2017 Academic session, while soliciting more support in the next Academic year.
The meeting also provided a forum to brainstorm on burning issues affecting the University and the way forward.
The 6th Congregation recorded a large turn-out, with the Acting registrar, Mr. Kenneth Sorandein, the bursar, Mr. Uche Agburuga, Deans, Heads of Departments, Units and Union executives in attendance.
